How Many Servings of Vegetables a Day for Heart Health?

Most health recommendations say to aim for 5 servings of vegetables a day, and this appears to slightly lower your risk of heart attack and stroke. But if you increase your intake to 10 servings a day, you can lower your risk of cardiovascular disease by 28%!

How many serves of veg do you get each day? Do you know what a serve of vegetables is?

A serve of vegetables is approximately 75g (2.6 oz) which equates to roughly:
½ cup cooked green or orange vegetables (for example, broccoli, spinach, carrots or pumpkin) ½ cup cooked dried or canned beans, peas or lentils
1 cup green leafy or raw salad vegetables
